June 20, 1929 - October 27, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Robert John Camarta on 27 Oct 2024 in Osoyoos BC, after a brief illness with COVID 19.

"Bob" was born in Peers Alberta on 20 June 1929, and is predeceased by his 6 siblings Mary, Nello, Victor, Josephine, Lina and Jim and his oldest daughter Beverely.

In 1945 he moved to Keremeos BC with his mother Esterina, and shortly after he married, he moved to Hedley BC where he worked as a miner. In 1956 he moved to Vancouver as a single parent to raise his 2 daughters with the help of his sister Josephine. He worked for many years in Fraser Sawmills, made numerous friends in the community and at work, as well as maintaining close relationships with all his extended family. He is fondly remembered for his house parties, his humor and his generosity.

In 1993 he retired to Osoyoos and continued to host barbeques, poker parties and waterfront boating activities. He was fortunate to enjoy good health throughout his life and, although frail, was able to remain in his home until only 2 weeks before he passed.

Sincere thanks to Dr G Tarr, Interior Health Home Support, Mariposa Palliative Care and his neighbors for their very good support of Bob.

Bob is survived by his daughter Corine (Rick), his grandchildren Jason, Gena (Ron), Denise (Bruce), and Andrew (Krissie), his great grandchildren Kyson (Gabby) and Alea-Jaye, and his great great grandchildren Hayden, Nova and Levi.

In remembrance of Bob please remember to continue to vaccinate against COVID if you are able.
