Louise Matilda Wheeler, more affectionately known as Dolly or Nana, passed away in the Summerland Seniors Village on September 20, 2020 at the age of 88 years, with her daughters by her side.
She will live on in our hearts and will be sadly missed by her daughters Sharin Smith and Shirley (Terry) Brown; son Gordon (Laurie) Wheeler; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and all those whose lives she loved and touched deeply while she walked this earth. Dolly was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Ella Brewer; all of her siblings; beloved husband Jim; daughter Joanie; son-in-law Creighton; and recently, her great grandson Joey.
Dolly lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, and entrepreneur. In the late sixties she opened her own dress shop. Throughout the years her doll collection brought her so much joy. She was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter. In her final working days, she worked tirelessly alongside Dad in the restaurant industry. Most of all, Mom loved her family and she instilled in her children strong values that have served us well. Dementia may have stolen her mind, but never her heart or her ability to show us how much she loved us. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Interment and a private family service will be held at Keremeos Cemetery.
