It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of James Frederick Bauer on January 11, 2023. Jim was born at Penticton Regional Hospital on November 12, 1958. Jim is survived by his wife Sonja van den Hoek of 40 years, son Joel van den Hoek (Leslie), daughter Ashley Bauer (Jamie) and granddaughter Addison, brother Bob Bauer (Donna), sister Cheryl Thomas (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Margaret Bauer and sister Carol Bauer.
Jim enjoyed slo-pitch, snowmobiling, fishing and collecting firewood, but his passion was to work in his orchard alongside his brother. Jim's love was his family and his two dogs and he had many long-time friends.
Many thanks to Dr. Loew and the specialists. A huge thank you for the gifts of flowers, cards and food.
Donations may be made to SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.
