Gerald passed away suddenly at his residence in Calgary, AB. Gerald joined the military in 1953, serving at many bases across Canada, a tour in Israel/Gaza Strip and over four years in Germany.
Helicopter repair and flying were his passion. He also won a marksmanship award with pistols while in the military. In his spare time Gerald started woodcarving, animals and people being his favourite subjects. In 1977 he won 4th prize for a horse he had entered in the C.N.E. Gerald also carved well known rodeo bronc-rider/saddle maker Bud Sharpe on his horse "Screwball".
In 2016 Gerald moved to Kelowna and spent many hours travelling the back roads of the Okanagan/Similkameen valleys.
In 2018 he relocated to Calgary to be closer to his children.
Gerald is predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth and second wife, Lola, his mother Audrey E. Tweddle in 1968 and father Halliburton T. Tweddle in 1986. He will be lovingly remembered by his four daughters, Susan Lo, Heather Michaud (Dave), Nancy Colpitts, Linda Astley (Ken), 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sisters, Patricia Kohler (Whitehorse, YT), Carole Sofko and Maureen Tweddle (Kelowna, BC) and extended family members across Canada and the USA.
