Florence "Doreen" Smith

October 12, 1930 - August 18, 2022
Doreen passed away August 18, 2022 with family by her side at the Penticton Regional Hospital.
Doreen was born at home near Carmichael, Saskatchewan October 12, 1930. In 1944 they moved to Cawston, British Columbia and on April 14, 1949, she married Kennieth Smith and raised their family in the home she resided in for 72 years. Doreen worked at the fruit packing house in Keremeos for 50 years and was very involved in the community and in later years a life time member of the Keremeos Museum Society, serving as President for many of these years.
She is survived by her children; Stanley Smith (Nancy) of Princeton, Brenda Walters (Ian) of Keremeos, and Shelley Smith of Cawston. Grandchildren; Caleb Kennedy (Jen), Matthew Walters, Naomi Kennedy, Orrin Smith, Cole Smith, and Megan Walters. Great Grandchildren; Autumn Kennedy, Cairo Kennedy, Cashton Smith; one sister Cleo Dawn Holliday and many nieces and nephews.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Kennieth Smith, her parents Elmer and Flossie Holliday; sisters June Evans, Maxine Balas, Winnona Hencheroff and Carol Miller. Doreen will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Keremeos Grist Mill, Saturday, October 01, 2022 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Similkameen Museum Society.
