June 8, 1941 - January 23, 2025

With great sadness we announce the passing of our dad Ray Karr on January 23, 2025.

Dad was born in Rosedale, BC on June 8, 1941, to Charles Edward and Verla Olivine Karr. Together with sister Rosemary, the family moved to Hope, BC.

Dad met mom, Patricia Dawn Karr (Christenson) here, and started their own family. With daughter Roxanne, they moved to Surrey where son Douglas and daughter Wendy completed the family.

A move to Chilliwack taught us about farm life. Dad commuted to work in New Westminster for Southern British Columbia Railway as an Engineer. He retired in 2003. His next move was to Keremeos with his second love Linda Darlene Karr (Young). Together they traveled throughout BC and into the States.

Dad was a Jack of All Trades and could fix anything. He liked to fish and hunt, off road, gold pan, & search for ghost towns. He was a master mechanic and learned to fly airplanes. He rebuilt a sunken boat, and rebuilt our 100-year-old farmhouse, and he could fabricate anything. He was a proud Legion member and had many friends there.

Dad passed away peacefully in his home at age 83.

He leaves behind his three children, his sister, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be announced at a latter date.
