Monthly RDOS Yard Waste collections will occur in Keremeos and Electoral Areas “A”, “B”, “C”, “D”, “E”, “F” and “G” the week of August 8 to 14. Residents are asked to place yard waste out by 7 a.m. on their regular garbage collection day.
Yard waste can now be placed out in compostable kraft paper yard waste bags or in clearly identifiable regular garbage cans. Residents can contact their local government office to get “Yard Waste Only” stickers which they can place on garbage cans used for yard waste collection. RDOS Rural Areas and Village of Keremeos residents can also continue to use clear plastic bags for yard waste. Small branches, maximum 1 metre long, can be bundled with twine or string or placed in clearly identifiable regular garbage cans. Bags, containers and bundles
should weigh a maximum of 25 kg I 55 pounds. Food waste, larger branches and lumber are not included in this service and should not be mixed in with yard waste.
