Weekend accident sends two to hospital

A collision at Yellow Lake on Saturday, August 17 sent two to hospital and caused traffic problems on Highway 3A

A collision between a motorcycle and a sedan at Yellow Lake sent two people to hospital and caused major traffic dispruptions on Highway 3A on Saturday, August 17.

A red,1998 Dodge Neon travelling southbound on Highway 3A struck a northbound Honda motorcycle while turning into the Yellow Lake rest area at the south end of the lake at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The 70 year old driver of the motorcyle suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in Vancouver.

The 50 year old driver of the Neon was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and has since been released. He is a Keremeos resident.

Traffic was backed up in both directions for some time, opening to one lane alternating traffic while police investigated the incident.

No names have been released as the accident is still under investigation.
