Vaseaux Lake accident results in death of Okanagan Falls woman

Second Okanagan Falls fatality in less than a week

An accident on Thursday afternoon at Vaseaux Lake has claimed the life of a 44 year old Okanagan Falls woman.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the woman was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am on Highway 97 when she went off the road and into the lake.

Nearby citizens, and subsequently police, fire, and ambulance personnel attempted to extricate her, but were unsuccessful, as the car ended up submerged.

The E Division dive team were on scene later in the day and were able to extricate the victim as well as the vehicle.

The woman was alone in the car, and was the only person involved in the accident.
