Valley First hosting Business After Business event

Valley First’s Keremeos branch will educate local company owners about the dangers of fraud and counterfeiting at a Business After Business event on April 13.

Held at the Keremeos Valley First branch at 704 7th Avenue, the event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. During this time, branch staff and the local RCMP will provide information on shoplifting, identifying counterfeit currency and debit and credit card fraud.

“Just because we are a small close-knit community does not mean we are immune to crime,” says Keremeos branch manager Vicki Morgan. “The first line of defence against any sort of crime is awareness, closely followed by prevention. Whatever we can do to educate and protect ourselves and our business from increasingly sophisticated criminals is good for the whole community.”

Valley First has always played an important part in strengthening the community. This commitment extends beyond non-profits and community events to the wider business network.

This free Business After Business event is open to all local businesses. Although this is a free event, cash or food donations to Feed the Valley will be gratefully accepted.
