Three men, two women arrested after home invasions in Kelowna

Kelowna RCMP have arrested three men and two women in relation to a home invasion in a residence at the 800 block of Harvey Avenue on Tuesday morning, Nov. 9.

According to a RCMP press release, three armed men broke into the home and assaulted two occupants at approximately 5:08 a.m. The two occupants sustained minor injuries.

The suspects also broke into a second residence nearby, but no one was injured.

Kelowna RCMP and the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team established a perimeter around the residence and asked the public to avoid the area. They closed off Harvey Avenue and Richter Street for four hours, and officers in tactical units could be seen leaving the residences at approximately 8:51 a.m. K9 units and ambulance were also at the scene.

Three men and two women were arrested following the incident. The men are currently in police custody pending further investigation and the women have been released without charges at the time.

“This was not a random incident and all parties are known to one another,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Kelowna RCMP Robbery Unit. Anybody with information about the incident is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
