Transport truck destroyed by fire in Kelowna

The fire started around 1 p.m.

A transport truck is destroyed after catching fire on Anderson Road on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

A transit truck caught fire on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 8) in Kelowna, closing Anderson Road in both directions. 

The fire was first reported before 1 p.m. on Anderson Road, between Booth Road and Upper Booth Road South.

Fire crews quickly doused the blaze, however, flames may have damaged nearby electrical wires. The truck is destroyed as a result of the fire. 

An explosion was heard coming from the area at the time of the fire. It's unclear what the truck was transporting. 

It's unknown at this time if anyone was injured.

Emergency crews are also at the scene as well as FortisBC.
