It was a busy Keremeos Elks Rodeo long weekend, but a quiet one for Keremeos RCMP.

“It was fantastic. We had no problems at all. Everyone was really well behaved, thankfully,” said Cpl. Brian Evans.

Evans said both RCMP and the South Okanagan Traffic Services section were out patrolling and did not have one impaired driver.

As the days start to get longer, Evans said expect to see more officers out.

“We are always trying to do more road checks so people should expect to start to see more throughout the summer for sure. We want to keep everyone safe and keep impaired drivers off the road,” he said. “As well, we get more visible walking around the parks to make sure people aren’t drinking in public and that sort of thing.”
