Emergency crews responded to Green Mountain Road near Highway 3a after an SUV left the road Friday morning, going down a 40-foot drop.

The SUV was travelling toward Highway 3a on a slippery, snow-covered Green Mountain Road, when the vehicle appears to have hit a slippery patch and left the road at around 11 a.m.

It’s unclear at this point whether there were any serious injuries, but two of the occupants of the vehicle were able to get out on their own.

A third occupant reportedly had a hip replacement surgery recently and was assisted up the embankment by the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department using ropes.
