Support available for legal issues

Legal Services Society (LSS) are community partners

Do you need support in applying for legal aid, have been charged with a crime, are dealing with divorce, separation, custody or access issues?  Are you in need of support to access legal advice regarding child protection issues, have questions about criminal, family, First Nations or immigration issues?

The Lower Similkameen Community Services Society has partnered with Legal Services Society as one of 24 new Community Partners around B.C. to improve access to their services in rural, remote, and Aboriginal communities, where people often face barriers to accessing legal aid.

Our role is to provide access to public legal education and information materials, to act as a link between LSS and people who need to apply for legal aid services, and to raise awareness in the community of legal aid and other resources that can help resolve legal issues.

If you have any questions about our community partnership or need any information, please call Cheri Mitchell at The Lower Similkameen Community Services office at 250-499-2352.
