The Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department was called to a major structure fire in Keremeos early Sunday morning.
Fire fighters arrived on scene at the K Mountain Winery and Fruit Stand to find it engulfed in flames. FIrefighters spent more than five hours on scene through the night, however, by morning the building had been levelled.
The Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department was also asked to provide mutual aid. Four firefighters and a pumper responded from the Kaleden department, with a dozen or so members of the KVFD in attendance.
The property recently changed hands, with the new owners having recently made renovations towards the prospect of a Victoria Day long weekend opening. No one was hurt in the blaze, and investigation into cause is continuing.
