The municipality of Summerland has signed a fire protection mutual aid agreement with a number of fire departments within the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.

The agreement was approved at a March 8 council meeting. It allows participating fire departments to call on one another for assistance during a large-scale emergency.
