A Soul of Summer dance party event is the upcoming fundraiser for the Cawston Hall on Saturday July 28th.
The guest band from Victoria is called Impulse Response and features a homecoming by Cawston’s own Jonnie Bridgeman who grew up in the Similkameen.
Bridgeman is a professional music educator in Victoria. He plays baritone sax, joining various musical groups at venus on The South Island.
Jonnie Bridgeman and the combo offer a fresh and exhilarating mix of soul, groove and R&B.
Impulse Response is fronted by vocalist Shanna Dance and vocalist/keyboardist Alexander Ferguson, along with Alex Campbell on drums and Jonnie Bridgman on saxophone - a quartet of veteran musicians who are experts at cultivating a tight and punchy groove
Impulse Response reaches into the play books of Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, and Ray Charles for some sweet soul harmonies.
Cawston Community Hall Society is pleased to be presenting Jonnie Bridgeman and his friends in Impulse Response as one of their series of community fundraisers aimed at improvements to the local hall which was founded in 1922.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a wine and beer bar on offer. Advance Tickets are $15 at Westland Insurance in Keremeos and at The Cawson Marketplace.
