Snow sticking on Penticton roads

Flurries expected to continue through to tonight

Snow has been falling for several hours now in Penticton and sticking on major roads, making the morning commute quite treacherous for those in higher elevations with summer tires on.

The snow continues to fall all day and into the night. The new weather alert from Environment Canada is Penticton is expected to get 15 centimetres today.

Summerland is seeing even more snow than Penticton with slushy but fair conditions on Highway 97.

This snowfall was predicted and city crews said they were ready for it.

The Coquihalla southbound between Merritt and Hope is closed from spun out semis on Larson Hill.

Thursday, the City of Penticton put out a warning about the snow on Friday and which are their priority routes to clear first.
