Semi flips on Highway 3 west of Keremeos

Semi load of lumber spills near Keremeos, closing highway for five hours on Wednesday

Highway 3 was closed for five hours on Wednesday evening

On April 25 at approximately 6:52 p.m., a semi-truck was proceeding Westbound on Hwy 3  near the Riverside RV park, approximately 10 kilometres west of  Keremeos.  The truck crossed over the center line and flipped, spilling the load of lumber it was transporting across the highway.

The highway was closed for approximately five hours.  There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 37 year old Surrey man was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The Commercial Vehicle Saftey and Enforcement Team and Kermeos RCMP are investigating the accident.  Charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are being considered.
