RCMP Emergency Response Team called to incident in Penticton

A large police presence was seen in West Bench Tuesday morning

An unspecified incident on West Bench led to the RCMP’s emergency response team being called out Tuesday morning.

According to Penticton RCMP media relations officer Const. Dayne Lyons, the incident was resolved before the team arrived.

Residents in West Bench had taken to social media to question the large police presence on Veterans Drive at around 10 a.m.

Photos taken by residents showed what appeared to be a standoff with RCMP officers.

No other details are being shared by the RCMP at this time.
