If you’ve ever wanted to put foot to grape, Summerland’s Saxon Estate Winery has just the ticket.

On Sept. 27 the winery is hosting the first Grape and Spillage stomp at its Lumsden Avenue location for up to 50 participants, teams and individuals.

“It’s going to be a spectacle of activity,” promised Saxon owner Paul Grayson. “It’s an eyebrow-raiser for sure and it’s all for fun.

“It’s to get people to try something they’ve never done before, something to cross off their bucket list to tread grapes barefoot; ‘cold grapes, oh my god this is weird.’”

Participants are encouraged to dress up in costumes as outrageous as imaginable and the $50 per person cost includes a stomp t-shirt, lunch and prizes for the winners.

The event gets underway at 9:30 a.m. when competitors will begin picking their own grapes with stomp action going from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the stage.

There will be live music throughout the afternoon with the popular band M&D Fusion. For more information contact the winery at 250-494-0311 or go to the website https://www.saxonwinery.com/contact-page/
