Poor early season road conditions contribute to fatal accident

Early morning tractor trailer accident near Bromley Rock kills driver

 

The Princeton RCMP and RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services attended a single vehicle fatal collision involving a commercial transport truck early  in the morning of Friday, October 25.

The collision, which  occurred on Highway 3 approximately 26 kms east of Princeton, happened near Bromley Rock, at  approximately 5:41 a.m.

A tractor trailer unit had gone off the road, with the trailer blocking both lanes of traffic.

The lone male driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Road conditions and weather conditions were poor at the time of the collision with dense fog and ice covered roads.

The RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services and the BC Coroners Services are investigating the collision. Efforts were continuing to notify the 50 year old man’s next of kin at the time of this press release.

The man was from the Lower Mainland with the truck being operated by a LMD transport company.
