Keremeos RCMP looking for three male youth accused of assault on 14 year old on January 16.

An RCMP cruiser responding to the scene of an accident was itself in an accident in the South Similkameen Thursday afternoon.

Keremeos RCMP  are seeking the public’s help in identifying three young males who are accused of  assaulting a 14 year old Keremeos female in the back alley near the Keremeos library at approximately 6 p.m. on January 16.

The victim told police that three young males in dark hoodies approached her from behind, pushed her down and attempted to grope her.

She was able to break away and run home.

The victim is reported to have suffered bruises to her back and face in the incident.

Police are continuing their investigation and attempting to identify the attackers involved in this incident.

MVA

RCMP responding to a motor vehicle accident in the Nighthawk Junction area ended up in an accident themselves.

An RCMP cruiser suffered front end damage after being clipped by another vehicle Thursday afternoon. The Keremeos and District Volunteer Fire Department was also page to the incident, which took place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 23.

Keremeos man re-arrested

Keremeos resident Mike Minchau appeared in court once again, Friday, January 24 after police arrested and charged him with four counts of breech of recognizance. They also added 17 more counts of property crime to an already lengthy arrest record.

Minchau had been at large on a $4,000 bail since being charged last week with 11 counts of fraud and property crime.

Youths caught with fuel cans

Police caught two youths who appeared to be prepared to light the contents of two fuel containers on Thursday, January 23. The youths are not suspected to be connected to recent arsons in the Keremeos area.
