People hoping to use the Skaha Lake Park boat launch in Penticton next week are being asked to go to Kaleden or Okanagan Falls instead.

Work on the launch will close the site from May 16 to 18, the city announced on Wednesday, May 11.

“Temporary repairs will see an excavator pull a large pile of spoil back into the existing ramp to fill the large void that currently exists,” the city said in an announcement.

Preventing damage to boats and trailers at the launch will ensure the site will be safe for use all summer long before it is replaced in the fall, the city added.
