Update: Oct. 29, 1:30 p.m.

Penticton RCMP say they are investigating after an assault between a man and woman resulted in the man being stabbed.

“There’s no threat to public safety, as this wasn’t a random act, but rather between two parties who were known to one another,” said Const. James Grandy in a press release.

According to the release, police were called to a private residence on Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. after a man reported he had been stabbed by a female.

Attending officers found the man with a non-life threatening stab wound. The female who allegedly committed the assault had left the residence prior to their arrival.

Both the male and female were known to one another. Charges of aggravated assault are being recommended to the B.C. Prosecution Service.

Penticton RCMP confirmed to the Western News that they are investigating a possible stabbing on the weekend.

Const. James Grandy said there was an incident, but he did not have any further details at the moment. He said a news release will be sent out regarding the incident, which is believed to have occurred on Sunday evening.

This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
