UPDATE 3:50 p.m.
The fire burning at Ollala Creek, above Keremeos, is now estimated at six hectares according to Kayla Fraser, fire informationofficer with BC Wildfire Service. The cause of the wildfire is listed as unknown on the BC Wildfire Service website.
“Crews are continuing to work to put in a hand guard, and they are being assisted by one helictopter,” said Fraser. “I believethere are 27 personnel on site.”

UPDATE 12 p.m.
As of Wednesday morning the Olalla Creek wildfire has grown to two hectares and is still classified as out of control.
UPDATE: The Olalla Creek wildfire (K51659), approx 10 km NW of #Keremeos, remains ~2 ha in size. The fire is responding well to suppression efforts despite difficult terrain. 27 #BCWildfire personnel are responding today, supported by heavy equipment and aerial resources.

Twenty-seven crew members are at the site with heavy equipment on the ground of the fire that sparked on Tuesday from lightening, according to BC Wildfire information officer Kyla Fraser.
There are seven personnel along with air tankers on scene Tuesday. The fire is located in steep terrain on a hillside above Keremeos.
