BC New Democrats have nominated Marji Basso, a teacher and Oliver town councillor as the party’s candidate in Boundary-Similkameen in anticipation of a possible fall election.

“Marji will be a strong voice for voters in Boundary-Similkameen,” said BC NDP Leader Adrian Dix. “Marji understands the challenges families in the Kootenays and across B.C. are facing, and will stand up for them every day.”

Marji Basso is a public school teacher in district 53, and has served as a town councillor in Oliver for two terms. Marji She has lived in Oliver with her family for over 15 years.

“I’m thrilled that Marji will be part of our team in B.C. in the next election,” concluded Dix. “I’m looking forward to hitting the doorstep with her.”

Since May, New Democrats have nominated 18 candidates, gearing up for the possibility of a provincial election in the coming months.
