Laurie Taylor recently joined staff at Keremeos Village office as the community’s new CAO.

Laurie Taylor has spent the last couple of weeks busily preparing for her new role as the Village of Keremeos new Chief Administrative Officer.

Taylor arrives in Keremeos from the Village of Sechelt, where she was working as Administrator for the Sechelt Indian government.

She brings to Keremeos 30 years of experience administering local governments. Taylor has also served as CAO for the Village of Sayward, B.C., and for Turner Valley, Alberta.

“I  lived in Kelowna in the past and was looking for an opportunity to come back to the interior,” Taylor said of her move to Keremeos. “I also wanted to get back into municipal government.”

Taylor is small town born and raised, and is now living in Keremeos with her mother and pet dog.

“I am looking forward to getting to know the issues and the people of Keremeos,” Taylor said, noting that she arrived just in time to get immersed in the Official Community Plan review, hiring of a new Chief Accountant, and the Liquid Waste Management Plan.
