Museum society to host Fancy Hat Tea Party

s

Putting on a fancy hat and dressing up has been a favourite of most little girls.  Females from the age of six to 96 still enjoy dress up time.

So why don’t you get a few friends, find a hat, make a hat, or buy a hat or come see what is available for sale at the tea.  It will be at the Gibson House, a 99 year old structure that has seen better days but still has that old country charm.

Tea isn’t the only thing happening though, there will be a lovely lady reading from Julia Bullock-Webster’s diary from the 1800’s, music and a chance to have your tea leaves read by donation. This fund raiser is one of the many exciting new events we will be hosting throughout the year in order to help fund a new home for the museum.  Bring a lawn chair if you have one and laze away the afternoon on the lawn while imagining what it was like in 1912 when the house was originally built.

So come, have tea, laugh a little, visit with your friends and do it all knowing you are helping a worthy cause.
