May long weekend means rodeo action in Keremeos

The May long weekend is bringing with it the 73rd annual Keremeos Elks Rodeo, from May 21 to May 23.

Saturday and Sunday starts take place at 1p.m. with full slates of rodeo events on both days. Monday’s 12:30  start will follow the rodeo parade and will feature ladies barrel racing, a local drill team, and a professional bull riding event.

Intermission entertainment on Saturday will include the children’s chicken catch; on Sunday, look for the calf scramble.

Other weekend activities include a pancake breakfast hosted by the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department, a Sunday steak barbeque, and the parade on Monday, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday and Sunday’s events will cost $10 for adult admission, $8 for students and $4 for children six to 12. Monday’s events are $15.
