Following the recent order from the Provincial Public Health Officer, masks are now required in all Penticton recreation facilities, including while working out in the community centre gym, at the arena and when in pool areas except for while swimming.
Children under two years of age are exempt.
Patrons visiting the fitness facility will be required to wear a mask at all times during their workout.
Visitors to the aquatic facility will be required to wear a mask in the building when travelling to and from their assigned pool, and may remove their mask when in the water.

People attending a program or sport activity at the Community Centre will be required to wear a mask at all times when travelling to and from their assigned court or individual program station.
At McLaren Arena, anyone attending public skating activities are required to wear a mask at all times when not on the ice surface.
People visiting the Penticton Museum & Archives will be required to wear a mask at all times.
City of Penticton staff reserve the right to refuse entry or service if a patron does not wear a mask.
“The Recreation Department has evaluated all programs and services offered to ensure that all Public Health Orders are adhered to and we will continue to adapt as further guidance on group recreational activities is received,” said Kelsey Johnson, Penticton’s manager of recreation, arts and culture. “We will continue to strictly follow all COVID-19 safety plans; the safety of our patrons and staff is of up most priority.”
