George Poulin appeared in Penticton court on Feb. 7 after undergoing a 30 day psychiatric assessment.
The Keremeos man faced several charges following a Boxing Day police standoff at his home.
The courts found Poulin not criminally responsible for his actions. It was recommended that he undergo further psychiatric care.
Poulin will remain in custody at a psychiatric hospital in the Lower Mainland.
He could be released on a conditional discharge but that will be up to the B.C. Review Board.
