To the Editor:

Work in near completion on the Olalla Local Community Water Commission system upgrades.

This is the second phase of the project. The first phase was completed last year.

This work was done with grant money that was obtained by the diligent efforts of our Area G director Elef Christensen, we were able to repair at least two leaks in this work as well.

Hopefully this work will reduce the water loss, due to leaking and cut our cost to provide good clean drinking water. We are looking forward to another water cost reduction as we have in the past 2 years. Our annual cost could again be reduced by $10 a year. So far this project has been done right on budget that was set at little over $600,000.

We are now recommending that our system be equipped with a generator at the pump station, that will protect our supply in the event of a power failure, our RDOS Area G director Elef Christensen will also search out some grant funding to help with this need.

We also welcome the new water commissioner, Neil Gair. He replaces Bev Fraser as she has moved away from our community: Thank you Bev for your great contribution while you were with us.
