Members of the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department attended a vehicle fire early last Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Upper Bench Road.
Heat from the fire came close to igniting a nearby building, causing some damage to some nearby vinyl siding. The fire in the Toyota Tercel wagon was confined mainly to the engine compartment. Cause of the fire was not immediately known, but a burning barrel nearby had been set on fire not long before the fire in the vehicle broke out.
