Keremeos RCMP crackdown on impaired drivers

RCMP charged another impaired driver earlier this week

The Keremeos RCMP continue to crackdown on impaired drivers.

Early Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. the Keremeos RCMP stopped a 20-year-old on Highway 3 near Chopaka and found the local man impaired behind the wheel.

“We were doing a road check. We were actually looking for a break and enter suspect out of Osoyoos and this was the first person we stopped,” he said.

The man received a 90-day prohibition from driving and his vehicle has been impounded for 30 days.

Last week a 19-year-old woman from Keremeos was charged with impaired driving after driving away from where RCMP were questioning another occupant of the vehicle. Moments later the woman allegedly lost control of the vehicle and rolling it over twice before coming to a rest.
