A meeting seeking public input on the Keremeos Grist Mill has been hastily scheduled for July 26 from 2 to 8 p.m.

This Tuesday afternoon and evening, June 26 the regional community is welcomed to sit down sessions on the future of The Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens.

The workshop is part of project of Heritage BC to develop Conservation and Management vision and plan for the Grist Mill Provincial Heritage Site.

The BC Heritage Branch, in collaboration with the Grist Mill’s site management, Millar Group Heritage Enterprises, is doing a study that “identifies its current value to the community, and to explore the future of this historic site”.

The current contract with Millar Enterprises will come to the end of its term in March 2013, the BC Heritage Branch will be opening the future management of the site to all proposals.

Public input is being sought to help guide the future of The Keremeos Grist Mill.

The workshop is being held at the Grist Mill to ask participants to identify what they value about the place, what they envision its future to be, and to identify possible future uses that would help ensure its continued importance to the community.

It happens Tuesday June 26, any time between 2- 8 p.m at The Keremeos Grist Mill Tea Room 2691 Upper Bench Road, Keremeos, BC.
