Investigation into death of Oliver man confirms death as a homicide

 

RCMP have confirmed that a charge of second degree murder has been laid against Kyle Louie in relation to the death of his brother Reece Louie.

 The Oliver RCMP attended to a disturbance at a home on the Osoyoos Indian Band Reserve in the 33,000 block of Black Sage Rd just North of Osoyoos, Saturday afternoon on February 19, as a result of a  911 call from the residence.  On police arrival, RCMP officers located 20 year old Reece Dillenger Louie laying outside of the residence suffering from serious injuries and bleeding.   Reece Louie died later, on Saturday night.  Investigators have classified the death as a homicide.

 Investigators believe that 22 yr old Kyle Louie killed his younger brother.  Oliver RCMP officers located and arrested Kyle Louie without incident early Saturday evening in Oliver.   Kyle Louie remained in custody and appeared before the courts this Monday afternoon in Penticton.

The autopsy examination is scheduled to take place on Tuesday February 22 at the Penticton Regional Hospital which it’s findings will assist the investigators in establishing the cause of death.
