Hotel developer looks to bring 6-storey building to Penticton

Mundi Hotel Enterprises is applying to redevelop the lots next to the Fairfield hotel

Penticton may be getting another new six-storey building as investment as the city continues to grow.

Mundi Hotel Enterprises, which broke ground on the six-storey Four Points by Sheraton hotel on Vernon Avenue in April, is looking to pour more into the city with two more construction projects.

The group recently filed its application to build a combined commercial and residential building next door to the Fairfield Marriot on Eckhardt Avenue, where it would take up the two lots between the hotel and End of the Roll.

The tower would provide 70 residential units as well as two 1,500 square-foot commerical units on the ground floor.

Mundi development manager Brianne McCourt confirmed that the application for the project had been filed with the city and that it would meet the requirements for parking spaces.

The parking spaces for the residential units would be located below and at the back of the building.

McCourt also confirmed that three four-plexes had received zoning and development approval at 726, 738 and 750 Westminster Avenue, opposite from the Villa Rosa Restaurant, which will be sold once they are finished.

Those four-plexes will add 12 residential units to the city’s housing supply.
