Highway construction flagperson dies unexpectedly at Yellow Lake

Work crew saddened by Friday afternoon's unexpected death

Tragedy struck at Yellow  Lake last Friday when one of the construction workers suddenly died on the job.

Details were sketchy at press time, but apparently a 51 year old flag person working at the north end of the construction zone suddenly collapsed on Friday afternoon. Attempts by fellow workers to revive the man were made until the arrival of B.C. Ambulance personnel, but all to no avail.

The worker had only been on site for a few months, but had become well known to fellow workers and regular travellers on the highway.

The construction site was quiet on Monday as workers dealt with the fatality.
