Free workshop on how to make a snake move

Have you ever wanted to learn how to safely relocate a snake? Here’s your chance.

The Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance and the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen are holding a half a day workshop called wildlife management on the farm. The workshop is taking place May 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cawston Community Hall and is free.

“The workshop will educate farmers and agricultural workers on safe and effective interactions with the many species, particularly the species-at-risk, in our environmentally sensitive region. We will discuss birds, bats, large mammals, snakes and amphibians,” a press release stated.

The workshop will tackle species identification, and even how to safely how to relocate a snake.
