Bust that ugly Christmas sweater out of storage and get it washed up because you’ll need it to help raise funds for a good cause.

Several local community members are putting on a dinner and dance and live auction to raise money for the Keremeos and Cawston Food Bank.

The money will be used to help feed people at Christmas.

“There’s a lot of people that need help over the holidays. Debbie Ramsey, the person that came up with the idea, really likes helping people and appreciates the community and wanted to do something to make sure everyone has a nice Christmas,” Ginette Schuk, one of the event’s organizer’s said.

Other organizers include Nikki Ramsey and Gail.

The event is being held Nov. 18 at the Cawston Community Hall. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

The ticket price includes dinner and dancing. Alcoholic drinks are available at extra costs.

Relvis the Elvis impersonator will be performing and taking care of the music for the night.

“He’s a great performer and it’ll be a lot of fun,” she said.

A prize will be given to the person who wears the ugliest ugly sweater.

The live auction has a variety of nice items up for bid.

Donations have been received from Pharmasave, Branding Iron, Benja Thai, Skaha Ford, Penticton Lakeside Resort, Hilltop Esso, Bok Bok’s Pizza and Silver Grizzly Native Crafts.

The auction starts at 4 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6 p.m.

“Everyone is welcome. Tickets are available at the door. We just want everyone to come out and have a fun time and help make sure everyone’s Christmas is great this year,” she said.
