The City of Revelstoke on behalf of Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area B, has issued an evacuation alert for the Trout Creek area.
BC Wildfire Service is reporting that the fire is approximately 162 hectares. The suspected cause of the fire is lightning.
The city is reminding residents that the evacuation alert is issued to "prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should an evacuation order be made. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible before evacuation is ordered, however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions."
