An additional eight properties, covering a total of 80 hectares, have been added to the Naramata Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area.

These properties are some of the last privately hands in Naramata to be considered for inclusion in the fire service area. They are at the existing service area boundary.

Three parcels are in the Naramata Water Service Area and there is a fire hydrant adjacent to one of the properties.

The Naramata Volunteer Fire Department has said fire service to these properties can be provided at the same level as other properties within the fire service area.

In addition to these eight properties, the regional district added properties on Workman Place and Kettle Ridge Way to the fire service area in May.
