A Princeton man was warned last week if he is caught driving again he faces jail time.

“If you are driving in the next year you’ll be looking at a minimum of 14 days,” said Judge Michelle Daneliuk

Lawrence Johnson pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license and fined $500.

He was issued a 12-month driving prohibition, although his right to drive is already under indefinite suspension.

Court heard a Princeton constable stopped Johnson on February 21, after witnessing the man’s vehicle jump a curb on Vermilion Avenue.

The Crown submitted Johnson’s driving abstract is “atrocious” and includes at least three convictions for impaired driving.

“You do have a long and not very enviable driving record,” said Daneliuk.

Duty council Kate Lundman said Johnson suffers from glaucoma and is no longer able to drive for medical reasons.
