Crime stats up for first quarter in Keremeos

Keremeos RCMP report a 39 per cent increase in calls for service during the first quarter of 2014, compared to the first quarter of 2013.

Keremeos RCMP report a 39 per cent increase in calls for service during the first quarter of 2014, compared to the first quarter of 2013.

Break and enters were up 200 per cent over last year, from  six to 18. Cause disturbance cases were also up from three in 2013 to 16  and  mischief complaints went from five to 16.

Keremeos RCMP opened one drug file and issued one driver with a seven day Immediate Roadside Prohibition. One driver was charged with impaired driving and related offences.

There are currently no chronic offenders in the RCMP detachment area.
