Women’s Institute Room insulation with heating upgrades largely funded by a $8,600 grant from The  Community Foundation of the South Okanagan are keeping  wind and cold at bay.

Members of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band have been a principle user supporter of the Cawston Community Hall. Last September LSIB Band Council received a delegation from the Cawston Community Hall Society to take their suggestions on improvements.

Also in the works is a covered patio on the Main Street entrance to the hall.

The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan grants over $100,000 annually in the South Okanagan and Similkameen to groups like the Cawston Community Hall Society.  It builds funds with help from individuals and organizations that show special interest in the area through their charitable donations to the locally based foundation
