Penticton’s Fire Department responded to another dumpster fire on Thursday, April 15.

Calls about the fire, near the South Okanagan Eye Surgeons on Vancouver Avenue, came in around 4 p.m.

The neighbour of the optometrists had been attempting to put out the fire with a hose before the fire department got on the scene.

The fire was put out within minutes of the fire department arriving.

Firefighters said they have been attending ‘a lot’ of dumpster fires as of late. They said it is difficult to determine who they are started though.

RCMP also responded to the scene.

The fire is the latest in a series of dumpster fires in the city.
