Family Day fun in the Okanagan and Similkameen is coming in the form of five scavenger hunts.
The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) says such events are planned in Keremeos, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, West Bench and Kaleden on Feb. 19, in recognition of the statutory holiday.
The object of the game is simple: Find items and “create a masterpiece” that represents your family, the RDOS said.
Balloons, cups, glow sticks, paper plates and bingo dabbers are just a few of the items teams will be asked to find, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.
Scavenger hunts will take place in the following locations on Family Day:
• West Bench- Selby Park at 2224 W Bench Drive
• Kaleden- Pioneer Park at 187 Ponderosa Avenue
• Naramata- Manitou BMX Park at 550 Dorothy Avenue
• Okanagan Falls- Lions Gardens Park at 750 Railway Lane
• Keremeos- Pine Park, 12th Avenue at 6th Street
“You will be finding items, creating masterpieces, drinking hot chocolate, eating goodies and staying warm by a fire,” the RDOS said.
Upon finding select items, people will be asked to send their creations to the RDOS by tagging them on Instagram or by emailing rdosrec@rdos.bc.ca.
People must attend the free event to participate in the scavenger hunt, the district added.
