PHOTOS: Hello Santa! Art Walk says hello to big crowds

17 galleries and studios opened their doors last night to the public

Penticton said Hello Santa! with a winter Art Walk that drew big crowds.

The evening started at the Leir House with the opening of the Penticton & District Community Arts Council’s Ornamented and Long Night’s Journey exhibitions, as well as open doors to some of the council’s artists in residence.

The art walk then travelled north, with each stop at one of the 17 participating art galleries showcasing the variety and quality of local art.

Other locations such as Slackwater Brewing also joined in on the artistic fun, hosting live painting with multiple artists.

The night wrapped up at the Penticton Art Gallery, with their Under 500 exhibition and sale, and the opening of Julie Oakes’ SHESHE exhibition.

The night was popular with many of the locations, including the Penticton Art Gallery, opening their doors early for the people gathered outside.
